Great family time with Esther!

God is so good - when Jessica brought Esther's four youngest siblings to visit, they were moving Esther into a new bed and light set up (her biliruben counts keep climbing so they wanted to set her up with two sets of lights), and they allowed all of the children to come in and interact with Esther while I held her!

Here's photos of our time together -

Elizabeth an Daniel get to touch her and talk to her!

She was really making some great eye contact - for a while as in this photo she only had eyes for her mommy...sniff, sniff

My shirt says it all!

Even big sis got to hold and bond with her! Jessica soooo wanted to hold her - she hadn't been able to for even a second yet and it was killing her!

This was just before they left, and Esther was in her new set up.

Our time together with Esther was so precious and she was wide awake and looking around and enjoying time in our arms!  Praise the Lord for this precious time!

I'm so glad we had this time, as soon after that a new baby with problems came in and I had to leave the nursery and have not been allowed back in as they are going to have to transport that precious little one down to Children's hospital in Seattle. So I'm trying to wait patiently to go back in to be with Esther again.

  2. Wow, Ruth, congratulations on your newest blessing. I am so glad you were able to hold her. And I'm really touched that you were wearing that very familiar (and very appropriate) shirt! Your family will certainly be in my prayers.

    Love in Christ,

  3. Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby girl! I'm praying for strength, grace, peace and wisdom as you begin the first steps of this journey with a new little one. My youngest daughter has Down syndrome too. We also dealt with feeding tubes and such. You can do it! You sound very calm in your writings and that is a blessing I'm sure.

I know that you probably know this - but your daughter is going to bless you and teach you in ways you never imagined. She will be a delight to all of you!

    Enjoy your little blessing,
    Leslie (from MOMYS)

  4. Ruth,
So glad to hear little Esther is doing well. After reading the request for prayer on the MOMYS list, you've been on my heart and in my thoughts. I've been praying for you and your family and will continue. What a sweet blessing Esther is - and so beautiful! Thank you for sharing what the Lord is doing with you all.

  5. Auntie Ruth,
Esther is beautiful! I wanted to congratulate you on the new baby. I read your blog and I am so greatful that you and the baby got all the help you needed at just the right time. The Lord was definitely watching over you both. I'm happy you were all able to hold and touch her and that she's able to eat now. Feeding will help the Jaundice. I will pray for you and your family. I hope her homecoming is not far off.

    Love,
    Mandy

  6. She's absolutely beautiful! My prayers are with you and your family. I spent 78 very long days with my son in the NICU. (He's a special needs child too.) NICU is no fun but the nurses are a wealth of information if you get a good one. God has blessed you with beautiful children and little Esther will give you MANY wonderful days full of surprises. God Bless!

What a beautiful baby girl! I pray that things will progress smoothly from here, and that your back feels better soon.

  9. May the Lord be with you all as you wait on His timing during this time. It is so sweet to see the kid's interaction and Jessica's delight in holding her sister. She was so excited about her during your pregnancy. We are praying for you in this time.
