I was born the youngest of 5 children to parents who were new believers. I was raised in a Christian home, attended a Christian school, and for 2 years attended a Christian college. While giving me a great all around academic education and a solid foundation of knowledge in the scriptures, none of my formal education prepared me for marriage, motherhood or homemaking. I have spent the last 20 years seeking to find our what it means to be a godly wife, mother and homemaker. I am still learning, but have learned so much! You can read my full testimony HERE.
My focus in life now is being a supportive and submissive wife, homeschooling my children (not just academically but in all areas of life), and managing my home. I do not do any of those things perfectly, far from it, but I am learning and fighting my natural tendency to only do what is urgent and compelling. I desire to actively disciple my children and prepare them to lead lives that glorify God.
I love to read books, especially books that mentor me in my search for godly womanhood, crochet and knit, garden, sew, play games, go camping and just be with my family.
Currently my life is so very busy, as we are working to adopt Priscilla, a little girl with Down Syndrome who is living in an orphanage in Eastern Europe and in desperate need of a family to love and care for her and get her the medical help she needs. We hope to travel to meet her this fall and bring her home this winter (2013).
This year I also had the privilege to write a chapter for the book Three Decades of Fertility, which was release in July! You can order a copy using the link found here in the side margin!
I am looking forward to the future - my children marrying, grandchildren, fewer demands on my time, and investing myself in my children as the grow up and take flight. But most of all I look forward to growing stronger in the Lord and serving Him everyday to the fullest, but I can only do this by His grace.
